Cramer Bets on Copilot to Drive Microsoft Stock Higher
Jim Cramer has forecasted a significant upward movement for Microsoft stock, attributing the potential rally to the growing influence of its Copilot service. In an October 5, 2026 post on X, Cramer stated, "It’s Co-Pilot’s time! MSFT going higher. Big move coming." At the time, Microsoft shares were trading at $526.25, up 1.68% on the session. However, Microsoft has lagged behind other megacap stocks over the past year, with a -1.28% return from October 6, 2025, through October 2, 2026.
Cramer’s optimism is rooted in Copilot’s rapid adoption, with Microsoft reporting over 30 million paid seats as of its July 29, 2026 earnings call. Despite this growth, the stock’s recent recovery, up 37.5% in the third quarter and 9.51% year-to-date, may already reflect some of the expected gains. Analysts have set a consensus price target of $578.82, with most ratings bullish.
However, skepticism remains. Cramer’s post lacks specific targets or timeframes, and Microsoft’s fiscal first-quarter earnings report on November 4, 2026, will be crucial in validating his prediction. Management has set ambitious targets, including Azure growth of approximately 45% and Intelligent Cloud revenue between $40.95 billion and $41.25 billion. If these benchmarks are met, along with Copilot’s continued expansion, Cramer’s outlook may prove accurate.
The stock’s performance relative to its 52-week high of $549.20 and its 50-day moving average of $487.72 will also be key indicators. Should Microsoft fall below the latter, it risks widening the gap with its megacap peers, including Alphabet, Apple, and NVIDIA, which have seen gains of 37.5%, 30.5%, and 26.4% respectively over the same period.
