Cramer: Buy Home Depot for Long-Term Gains, Not Short-Term Bump

Famed investor Jim Cramer believes Home Depot (NYSE: HD) has the potential to generate substantial returns, but advises against buying it today. The home improvement retailer reported a better-than-expected Q4 earnings, with $2.72 a share and $38.20 billion in revenue, beating consensus estimates.

Cramer attributes his optimism to the recent decline in mortgage rates below 6% for the first time since 2022, which he believes will boost Home Depot's 'Pro' business.

Despite this, Cramer remains a fan of Lowe's (NYSE: LOW) over HD shares, citing Lowe's stronger execution and consumer model.
