Cramer Slams Trump Team Over Blocked Nvidia Chip Sales: 'So Ill-Advised'

CNBC's Jim Cramer has criticized the Trump administration for blocking Nvidia Corp.'s (NASDAQ:NVDA) advanced chip sales to China.

The move, which was made in an effort to limit Beijing's access to American technology, has predictably fueled China's campaign for global artificial intelligence dominance, according to Cramer.

Nvidia had previously been aiming to become the preeminent chip supplier for China, with the goal of making it necessary for Chinese developers to write on their platform. However, this strategy was blocked by the administration, which inadvertently forced China to develop its own technological ecosystem.

Cramer believes that the administration's decision to restrict American hardware exports has had a predictable outcome: China is now rapidly developing its own AI capabilities, with the goal of becoming a global data powerhouse by 2028.
