Crash Survivor: RTX 5060 Ti Bounces Back from Car Wreck

A Chinese repair shop received an Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti that had survived a car crash in surprisingly good condition. The card's PCB was only slightly bent, despite the cooler and backplate being severely damaged.

The technician, Brother Zhang, checked for internal damage but found no electrical shorts or significant issues with the GPU or VRAM chips. After reassembling the card with new fans and a reballed/resoldered VRAM chip, it booted to Windows but failed to run correctly due to an unknown issue.

A diagnostic software revealed that both the GPU and VRAM chips were functional, so Brother Zhang reopened the card and reballed/resoldered the VRAM chip closest to the bent section of the PCB. The RTX 5060 Ti was then stress-tested and benchmarked, with all aspects passing successfully.
