Crashed Cargo Jet Moved from Miami Airport Crash Site

A Boeing 767-300 cargo jet involved in a fatal crash at Miami International Airport has been moved to a nearby lot. The plane, operated by 21 Air for Amazon under the Prime Air Flight 7598 designation, crashed on September 6 while attempting to land.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash, which resulted in the deaths of five people and injured five others. The jet overran the runway after landing and struck a van and an SUV, killing seven men who were working at the airport.

The victims included Julio Pineda, Rolando Aleman, Yoel Rodriguez, Carlos Acosta, Javierkys Reyes, Roosevelt Perdomo, and Ridoel Averhoff. Perdomo and Averhoff survived with injuries, while Eugenio Corredor, who was driving an SUV outside the airport, was also injured.

The pilot and co-pilot of the plane, Joseph Carroll and Jaime Silva, suffered minor injuries but were released from the hospital to face scrutiny over the crash. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine what caused the jet to overrun the runway.
