Cryptocurrency news has not been directly affected by this story, but it is related to AI and software development in the financial industry.

Curative, a health plan company, abandoned its $600,000-a-year contract with Salesforce and built an AI-powered CRM internally in about two months. The company claims that its AI strategy extends beyond customer relationship management, targeting areas such as claims administration, provider contracting, and credentialing for internal development.

Curative's use of AI has significantly reduced administrative complexity, allowing it to process provider credentialing in 12 hours instead of two to three months. Contracting costs have also decreased from $1,500-$2,000 per deal to about $70.

Salesforce defended its enterprise software model by pointing out that while AI coding tools can make writing code easier, running the software securely and compliantly is a much more complex task. The company cited Gartner research warning that internally developed systems without proper safeguards could increase software defects by 2,500%.
