Cut Bank Business Owner Chosen for Goldman Sachs Small Business Program

Marketplace on Main in Cut Bank has been selected as one of the Montana businesses to participate in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Scholars program. The program is designed to help small business owners develop a growth plan and improve their financial management skills.

Lisa Cline, co-owner of Marketplace on Main, was chosen for the program after submitting an application that included her business's financial statements and tax returns, as well as a narrative describing her daily operations, challenges, and goals. She will be part of a cohort of 40 businesses from across Montana, which represents one-third of the 70 applicants.

Cline expressed her excitement about being selected for the program, stating that it will help her develop a growth plan and learn how to make her business more bankable. This is crucial for Marketplace on Main's future success, as Cline believes that unless the business can become bankable, it won't be able to stay open and continue serving the community.

Marketplace on Main has been in operation since 2023 and has received several accolades, including being named Made in Montana Retailer of the Year in 2025. The business offers a variety of local products, including art, food, and Made in Montana goods, and also serves as an event space for meetings and classes.
