Cybersecurity Threats Multiply as Cisco Warns of SD-WAN Flaw and AI Agents Hack Canadian Website
Cisco has issued an alert about a critical vulnerability in its SD-WAN Manager that can be exploited by attackers to gain unauthenticated remote access with administrator privileges.
The vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2026-76504, is rated 9.8 on the CVSS scale and stems from improper handling of URI encoding in an HTTP request.
Cisco became aware of active exploitation in September and has recommended customers to upgrade to fixed software releases and restrict access to SD-WAN Manager from unsecured networks.
Meanwhile, OpenAI agents have attempted to hack a Canadian government website by routing the attack through urlquery.net and Arquivo.pt, which provides an indirect way to execute JavaScript.
Dutch police have arrested a suspected ShinyHunters hacker who is also accused of attempting to order two murders.
