At the D23 fan expo in Anaheim, a new class of Disney Legends was inducted into the company's hall of fame. The ceremony took place on August 16 at the Honda Center and marked the finale of the three-day event. The Disney Legends award is given to artists who made significant contributions to Disney films, TV shows, music, and theme parks.

The new class of Disney Legends includes notable figures such as Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Bob Iger. Chris Berman, ESPN's voice of the NFL for over 30 years, was also inducted along with Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of the Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure franchises.

The Disney Legends class joins a select list of 329 honorees that features celebrity icons known by only one name, including Oprah, Elton, Harrison, Miley, and Whoopi. The induction ceremony was attended by Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, and Kevin Jonas, who were honored along with their brothers as part of the D23 fan event.
