Daiichi Life Insurance Invests $8.86 Million in The Travelers Companies

Daiichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd., a Japanese insurance company, has made a new investment in The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TRV), acquiring approximately $8.86 million worth of shares during the second quarter.

The institutional investor purchased 26,824 shares of TRV's stock at an average price of around $332.35 per share. This is not Daiichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd.'s first investment in TRV; several other large investors also recently increased their holdings in TRV during the second quarter.

The Travelers Companies reported a significant increase in earnings per share (EPS) for the latest quarter, topping estimates by $4.63 with an EPS of $10.04. The insurance provider's revenue also rose 0.3% compared to the same period last year, reaching $12.15 billion.
