Dangote Refinery Project in Kenya Sees Engineering Firms Win Big Contracts
The construction of Kenya's Sh2.1 trillion Dangote Industries oil refinery project in Lamu has officially begun, with engineering and technology firms securing contracts worth over Sh100 billion.
India's state-owned Engineers India Limited (EIL) has bagged a contract worth more than $450 million (Sh58.3 billion), while Honeywell Technologies will work on the project for about $300 million (Sh38.9 billion).
The design and technical approach of the Lamu refinery mirrors that of Dangote's Nigerian refinery in Lekki, where Engineers India Limited and Honeywell were also partners.
