Dangote's $16 Billion Kenya Refinery Partners with Honeywell

Aliko Dangote's $16 billion Kenya refinery project has selected Honeywell Technologies to provide engineering services, licensing and equipment for the proposed 700,000-barrels-per-day (bpd) facility.

The agreement follows the companies' previous work at Dangote's Nigerian refinery, where Honeywell is helping with upgrades aimed at doubling the plant's capacity to 1.4 million bpd by 2028.

Honeywell Technologies President Rajesh Gattupalli stated that their existing relationship could help accelerate the Kenyan project: 'Through our long-standing relationship with Dangote, we have developed proven large-train engineering designs that can be applied to the Kenya refinery to significantly reduce time-to-market.'
