Datadog Stock Soars as Cloud Monitoring Demand Surges with AI Adoption
Datadog's stock price has surged more than 70% this year alone, rising from $133.77 to $229.92 on the New York Stock Exchange.
The company provides real-time cloud monitoring services and has benefited from the increasing demand for monitoring and security as companies rapidly introduce artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.
Datadog was co-founded in 2010 by Olivier Formel, CEO, and Alexi Lecock, Chief Technology Officer, who studied together at École Saint-Tral-Paris and worked at IBM Research and Edutech company Wireless Generation.
The company's platform allows customers to observe the entire system that has become more complex in real-time, making it easier for them to manage their infrastructure. As AI models, databases, and external APIs are intricately connected, Datadog is expanding its business area to track the response speed and errors, token usage, and costs of AI models.
In the second quarter of this year, revenue increased 36% year-on-year to $1.12 billion, exceeding market estimates. The company has secured all of the top 10 major AI companies in the world as customers, including OpenAI.
