Debbie Allen's 'Hive of Whole Health' Initiative Aims to Empower HIV/AIDS Community
Debbie Allen has been an advocate for the HIV/AIDS community for over four decades. Her latest initiative, Your Hive of Whole Health, is a partnership with Merck to provide education and resources to those living with the virus.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Allen explained that she was thrilled to be working with Merck on this campaign, which emphasizes the importance of whole-body wellness for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
'Your whole hive of health, meaning your mind, body, spirit, your social wellbeing, couldn't be framed better than with that word, 'hive.' When you talk about hive and you think of bees and how they work together, how they communicate, how if one part falls down, the whole thing kind of goes,' Allen said.
Allen noted that the HIV/AIDS community has made significant progress in recent decades, but there is still much work to be done. She emphasized the importance of continued education, awareness, and support for those affected by the virus.
