Decker Steps Away: Home Depot's Top Exec Takes Medical Leave
Home Depot's President and CEO Ted Decker is taking a medical leave of absence. According to an announcement by the company, Decker will be out for several months. During his time away, Ann-Marie Campbell, Senior Executive Vice President, will handle day-to-day operations, while Richard McPhail, Executive Vice President and CFO, will oversee financial management and Pro subsidiaries.
Greg Brenneman, Independent Lead Director, expressed confidence in Campbell's and McPhail's abilities to lead the company. Decker has been with Home Depot since 2000 and served as President since 2020. He became Chair and CEO in 2022.
The reason for Decker's leave was not disclosed by the company. Brenneman stated that both Campbell and McPhail are 'strong, seasoned executives' who have worked together for over 20 years.
