Chinese AI firm DeepSeek has partnered with Huawei Technologies to develop programming tools for Huawei's Ascend chips. This partnership is part of a larger trend of Chinese tech firms seeking alternatives to Nvidia's ecosystem.

The collaboration involves open-sourcing infrastructure for Huawei's Ascend platform, including a high-level programming language called TileLang and related compute and communication libraries.

According to DeepSeek, the goal of TileLang is to provide a universal, easy-to-program language that can reach the hardware's full performance potential. The company claims that TileLang offers a simpler programming model than Nvidia's CUDA, improving development efficiency and simplifying code logic.
