Delta Ditches Boeing 717 Fleet from Minneapolis
Delta Air Lines has phased out its Boeing 717 fleet from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, marking the end of an era that began in the 1960s with Northwest Airlines' DC-9 operations.
The last 717 flights took place in May 2026, after which all aircraft were removed from Delta's schedule at MSP.
Delta acquired its 717 fleet from Southwest Airlines in 2014 and used them to serve regional routes. The retirement of the 717s means that travelers may notice fewer direct flights on certain regional routes previously served by these aircraft.
