Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Pressurization Issue

A Delta Air Lines flight made an emergency landing in Las Vegas on September 6 after experiencing an unexpected pressurization issue.

The Boeing 737-900, carrying 174 passengers and six crew members, was about halfway from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City when the problem occurred.

According to an air traffic control recording obtained by ATC.com, the pilot rapidly descended from 36,200 feet to 9,000 feet in approximately 10 minutes.

The pilot informed air traffic controllers that oxygen masks had deployed and requested a diversion to Las Vegas.
