Delta's Record-Breaking Flights: New York to Iceland in Under 5.5 Hours
Delta Air Lines has recently expanded its routes to Europe with some of its shortest trans-Atlantic flights. According to aviation analytics company Cirium, five Delta services operate under six and a half hours from US cities to European destinations.
The airline's shortest route is the seasonal service from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Keflavik International Airport (KEF) in Iceland, operated by its Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. This flight clocks in at just five hours and 25 minutes gate-to-gate.
In addition to this route, Delta operates seasonal services from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Keflavik, with flight times of five hours and 41 minutes and six hours and two minutes respectively. These routes are also operated by the Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
