Denton Software Engineer Sharon Elizabeth Watson Passes Away at 86
Sharon Elizabeth Watson, a software engineer and avid traveler, passed away on September 24, 2026. Born in International Falls, Minnesota, to William and Ethel Watson, she moved multiple times due to her father's construction work and World War II.
Watson settled in Mankato, where she attended Mankato High School and later graduated from Mankato State College with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. She worked in hospital labs, 3M, and the University of Minnesota before becoming a software engineer for Honeywell.
Honeywell was acquired by Hughes, which was then acquired by Raytheon. Watson enjoyed various hobbies, including traveling, golf, reading, skiing, sailing, and horses.
She is survived by her partner, William (Bill) Klint, brother, William (Bill) Watson, sister, Linda Watson, niece Megan Weerts, and nephews Colin Weerts, Scott Watson, and Wade Watson. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriner’s Children’s.
