Denver Cancels 9/11 Flyover Over Community Concerns
A United Airlines Boeing 777 flyover planned over Denver to honor the victims of Sept. 11, 2001, was canceled due to 'concerns in the community.'
The flyover, which had been scheduled for 9:03 a.m., the exact time hijackers crashed United Flight 175 into the South Tower of the World Trade Center on 9/11, would have featured a Boeing 777 escorted by four fighter jets.
United Airlines said it planned to unveil a 9-foot-11-inch monument made from World Trade Center steel honoring the airline crew members aboard Flights 175 and 93.
