A Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) trial will take place at the Special Olympics Great Britain National Summer Games in Birmingham, UK. The event, scheduled for August 27-30 at Alexander Stadium, aims to test the usability of Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) and messaging in a real-world environment.

The trial is being conducted by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Exchange for Change, and Special Olympics GB. Hundreds of athletes with intellectual disabilities will participate alongside thousands of spectators, volunteers, and supporters. The machines will be supplied by Recyclever and Sielaff to encourage participation while supporting the charity's work.

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners will fund a 20p donation to Special Olympics GB for every eligible drinks container returned through the RVMs during the Games.
