Dimon Leads Industry-Wide Effort to Tackle AI Risks
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has launched a new initiative to tackle risks posed by AI, urging corporate leaders to join a U.S.-focused industry group. This effort aims to develop a shared understanding of how AI is being used and the safeguards needed, as well as work with the government on these issues.
The Alliance for Critical Infrastructure (ACI), which Dimon helped found, will serve as an industry response and information-sharing forum, working closely with government officials to identify core AI and technology risks. The ACI has reached out to over 40 companies across various industries, including finance, energy, and telecommunications.
Dimon has been a vocal advocate for responsible AI development, warning about the risks posed by advanced AI systems. He has specifically highlighted concerns around the Anthropic's Mythos AI model, stating that access to such capabilities must be controlled.
The initiative is seen as a response to growing cyber threats and the need for more information sharing across industries. The ACI aims to have its revamped structure fully functional by the end of the year.
