Dimon Unveils Plan for 'Big, Beautiful' US-Europe Trade Pact

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has proposed a plan to revitalize the Western world's economy and strengthen its defense capabilities. He believes that Europe should implement meaningful economic and military reforms, which would prompt the U.S. to negotiate a large-scale free trade agreement with Europe.

This 'big, beautiful' deal could also extend to friendly democracies such as Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and the Philippines. Dimon argues that seamless trade ties between the U.S. and its allies would allow them to set global rules on trade and bind them together in the face of autocratic pressure.

Dimon's proposal stands in contrast to the more protectionist policies pursued by the Trump administration. He emphasizes the need for Europe to complete its Capital Markets Union, Banking Union, and implement the recommendations of the Draghi report to boost its competitiveness.
