Dimon Warns Healey: Higher Bank Taxes Will Cost Jobs
JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Jamie Dimon has cautioned UK Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey against imposing higher taxes on banks. The warning comes as Prime Minister Andy Burnham's government prepares its budget for October, according to the Financial Times.
In a recent call with Healey, Dimon expressed concerns that increased taxes would drive away jobs from the finance sector. He pointed to New York City's tax burden as an example, citing a decline in finance jobs in the area due in part to high taxes.
