Dimon warns of tenfold rise in cybersecurity risks due to Anthropic's Mythos AI
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has raised concerns about the cybersecurity risks posed by Anthropic's Mythos AI model. In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Dimon stated that the model has increased global cybersecurity risks by approximately tenfold. He highlighted that AI has introduced vulnerabilities that were previously unknown, emphasizing that cybersecurity threats were already a significant concern before the advent of advanced AI models.
Dimon specifically mentioned the risks associated with AI agents and Mythos, noting that these technologies can cause significant trouble. He acknowledged that these concerns are legitimate and real, underscoring the need for heightened vigilance in the financial sector.
In addition to cybersecurity, Dimon discussed the importance of data centers, suggesting they should be built in locations where the community supports them. He pointed out that many states with access to power would be suitable for such facilities.
Despite these concerns, JPMorgan Chase retained its position as the most advanced bank in AI according to the Evident AI Index for the fifth consecutive year. The bank was followed by Capital One Financial and the Royal Bank of Canada in the rankings.
