Director Urges Multiple First Aid Kits for Home, Car, and Work
McDonald County Ambulance Director Mike Ross emphasizes the importance of having a first aid kit at home, in the car, and at work. According to him, every household should have multiple kits with basic supplies such as band-aids, gauze, and medical tape.
Ross recommends customizing the kits for individual needs, including medications like aspirin or ibuprofen, tweezers for splinters, and antibiotic ointment. He also suggests keeping tabs on expiration dates and replacing expired items to ensure the kit remains effective.
The director advises people to check their medicine cabinets at home for essential supplies and consider adding items specific to GI problems like Imodium or Pepto Bismol when traveling.
