Disney Accused of Failing to Protect Child Actress from Employee Abuse
Former child actress Raquel Lee has filed a lawsuit against Disney alleging she was sexually assaulted by an employee while filming 'The Poof Point' in 2001. At the time, Lee was just 14 years old.
The lawsuit claims that a middle-aged Disney staff member gave her alcohol and assaulted her in a Utah hotel room after inviting her there under the pretense of practicing lines for the movie.
Lee's legal team emphasizes the need for accountability in the entertainment industry, stating 'This conduct is inexcusable, and those involved, directly or indirectly, must be held accountable.'
Disney has declined to comment on the lawsuit. Lee's experience adds to a growing number of allegations against Disney, highlighting the need for systemic change to protect child safety in the entertainment industry.
