Disney Acquires Yamaha Campus Near Disneyland for $115 Million
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S. Inc. has acquired a 25-acre campus in Cypress, California from Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. for $115 million. The property, which totals 279,000 square feet, includes an industrial warehouse, flex, and office building. This marks the second significant transaction related to Disney's operations near Disneyland Resort in recent months, following the demolition of an office building across Harbor Boulevard from the resort.
The campus was purchased after Yamaha announced its intention to move to Georgia and put the property up for sale. The company will continue to lease the space through December 31, 2028 as it completes its transition. Disney has stated that the acquired property will be used for 'back-of-house operations' and non-guest-facing work.
The acquisition provides Disney with a significant amount of space to support its long-term operational needs, including growth and evolving business requirements. The company's Disneyland Resort is currently undergoing a period of transformation as part of the DisneylandForward initiative, which aims to enhance the guest experience through new infrastructure projects.
