Disney Adds 5K Jobs in Central Florida Amid Restructuring Efforts

Walt Disney World Resort is set to add 5,000 jobs in Central Florida over the next five years as part of its evolution following recent corporate restructuring. The company's largest single-site employer in the U.S., with around 80,000 cast members, expects more than 300 job applications daily.

The new hires will undergo training rooted in Disney's five pillars of customer service at Disney University, where they'll learn about behind-the-scenes work that helps create a memorable experience for guests. Kylee Withers, a Disney Ambassador, emphasized the company's people-first approach: 'It really goes back to we're a people-first company, and that's what one of the things that really makes Disney unique.'

Costuming is an example of this behind-the-scenes work, with 1,500 cast members across 50 unique roles. The costuming department is home to the largest working wardrobe in the world, with 2.5 million garments in circulation.
