Disney Adds New Soundtrack to Toy Story Ride
Disney's Hollywood Studios is getting a musical upgrade for one of its Toy Story-themed rides. The Alien Swirling Saucers ride, which opened in 2018, will feature a new soundtrack themed to 'Lilypad' from the upcoming 'Toy Story 5'. This move follows similar upgrades at other Disney parks, such as Tokyo Disneyland's 'The Happy Ride With Baymax', which has become a fan favorite due to its music program.
The decision to theme the new music set to 'Lilypad' may seem unusual, given that Toy Story Land is canonically set in Andy's backyard during the first two films. However, Disney has been known to bend timelines in its theme park lands, as seen at Disneyland's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and Avengers Campus.
Disney commissioned musicians in Nashville to record the soundtrack for the ride, which includes 'You've Got a Friend in Me', 'We Belong Together', and 'I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away', as well as new songs including 'Spin It Back, Lilypad' and 'Pizza Planet Promo'. The new song list debuts on September 25.
