Disney and Epic Games Unite Star Wars and Fortnite in Groundbreaking Activation

Disney and Epic Games have collaborated on a unique project that bridges the physical world of theme parks with the digital realm of Fortnite. The activation, called Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Fortnite, connects the popular Star Wars attraction at Disneyland and Walt Disney World to an all-new adventure in Fortnite.

The experience allows eligible guests who ride the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction to collect crates that can be redeemed for a reward in Smugglers Gambit, a new game mode within Fortnite. The game lets players become one of the Outer Rim's most infamous smugglers and explore Mersa Veta Station, taking on quests and battling pirates and Imperial remnants.

The technology behind Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was built using Unreal Engine 5 by Walt Disney Imagineering, in collaboration with Industrial Light & Magic. As a result, many of the authentic assets from the ride have been brought into the Fortnite island, providing an immersive experience for players.
