Disney and Epic Games Unleash Interconnected Theme Park and Fortnite Adventure

The Walt Disney Company and Epic Games have collaborated on an unprecedented project that connects one of Disney's theme park rides to a new Fortnite adventure. The result is Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Fortnite, which allows visitors to the Smuggler's Run attraction at Disney's parks in Orlando and Anaheim to accept a special mission while waiting for the ride. If they succeed, they'll receive a unique Forsworn Trooper Outfit in a new Fortnite adventure called Smugglers Gambit.

The experience marks the first time an attraction has expanded beyond its physical walls into a connected game world. The story starts in the queue for the ride and continues on any screen, anywhere. Disney's Imagineers used Epic's Unreal Engine to create the cockpit technology in the ride, allowing many assets from the ride to appear in Smugglers Gambit.

'This is only the beginning of what's possible when world-class storytellers bring their creativity into Fortnite,' said Adam Sussman, president of Epic Games. Disney has been investing in Epic Games and collaborating on special seasons and minigames associated with Fortnite.
