Disney and TikTok Unite in Global Content-Sharing Deal
The Walt Disney Company and TikTok have entered into a global deal to bring fans and creators a unique way to discover and create content using memorable scenes from Disney movies and shows.
The agreement, announced on August 5, will pilot in the U.S. this month with plans to expand to other markets soon.
The deal will allow TikTok creators access to assets related to hundreds of films and series from Disney's vast library, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, FX, and more.
Short-form videos from participating creators will live on both TikTok and 'Verts on Disney+,' with the content refreshed regularly to engage subscribers in timely fan conversations.
The ultimate goal is to encourage fans to discover new story formats across Disney+, according to Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer at Disney.
