Disney and TikTok Unite to Bring Short-Form Magic to Global Audiences
Disney and TikTok have entered into a groundbreaking collaboration to bring short-form content sharing to a global audience. The deal, set to launch in the US in the coming months with plans for expansion to other markets, will enable creators to share their Disney-centric fan-created content on both TikTok and the Disney+ app.
The agreement provides participating creators with access to assets related to hundreds of films and series from Disney's vast library of enduring franchises. This includes Pixar, Marvel, Disney Animation, Star Wars, FX, and more. The collaboration aims to create a unique shared experience for fans, with TikTok videos refreshed regularly to engage subscribers in timely fan conversations.
Disney's Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, Asad Ayaz, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating that 'the best storytellers are fans first.' He noted that this collaboration creates a new bridge between Disney's stories and the creativity they inspire. Meanwhile, Dawn Yang, Global Head of Entertainment for TikTok, highlighted the value of creator expression on the platform, saying 'creators are at the heart of everything we do at TikTok.'
The jointly-run Disney Creator Ambassador Program will enable best-in-class creators to unlock special rewards and increase their visibility. This partnership demonstrates Disney's commitment to building relationships and finding new talent through its collaboration with TikTok.
