Disney Animation Exhibit Coming to Fort Worth Museum
The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is set to host a special exhibit straight from Disney’s archives, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the animation process behind beloved Disney films. Titled Capturing Life, Creating Character: The Art of Live-Action Reference, the exhibit will run from November 14, 2026, to February 14, 2027, in the museum’s Havener Gallery.
The exhibit will feature photographs, documents, videos, and interactive displays from the Walt Disney Archives, showcasing how live-action performers, props, and sets have been used as references in Disney’s animation. Visitors can also enjoy photo opportunities and an audio guide to enhance their experience. This is the exhibit’s second stop and its first in Texas, following its debut at the Muzeo Museum in Anaheim, California.
Jesse Cannady, senior manager of exhibitions and loans at the Walt Disney Archives, highlighted the significance of the exhibit, noting that Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs revolutionized animation nearly 90 years ago. The exhibit celebrates the pioneering use of character reference that continues to inspire Disney’s animation today.
Admission to the exhibit is included in the museum’s general ticket prices: $14 for seniors, $16 for adults, $12 for juniors, and free for children under two. Tickets can be purchased online or in person.
