Disney Appoints First-Ever Chief Technology Officer to Lead Tech Strategy
The Walt Disney Company has appointed Karandeep Anand as its first Chief Technology Officer (CTO), a new role created under CEO Josh D'Amaro. Effective October 2, Anand will join Disney as Senior Executive Vice President and CTO, reporting directly to D'Amaro.
Anand comes from Character.AI, where he served as CEO. Before that, he held positions at Brex and Meta's Facebook, including Vice President of Ads and Business Products. He also spent 15 years at Microsoft working on the Azure platform.
As CTO, Anand will oversee enterprise technology, infrastructure, data, AI platforms, product development, and engineering across Disney's segments. D'Amaro sees Anand's background as a perfect fit for his priorities: storytelling, technology in service of creativity, and operating as 'One Disney.'
