Disney Appoints New CTO as Tech Role Expands Across Businesses

The Walt Disney Company has created a new role to oversee its technology and AI strategy. Karandeep Anand, who previously served as CEO of Character.AI, has been appointed as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.

Anand's experience includes leadership positions at Brex and Facebook. In his new role, he will report directly to Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro and oversee enterprise technology, infrastructure, data and AI platforms, product, and engineering across the company.

Disney is looking to expand the role of technology across its businesses, including streaming, consumer products, experiences, and gaming. Anand's appointment comes as part of this effort to modernize Disney's technology capabilities.
