Disney Archives Crates Opened at D23, Unveiling Rare Prop and Costume Collection
The Walt Disney Archives has opened up its crates to give fans a rare look at props, costumes, and other pieces representing generations of The Walt Disney Company. At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, an all-new exhibition called Walt Disney Archives: Uncrated is on display, inviting guests to step inside a recreation of the vast warehouses where Disney archivists work.
The collection spans multiple generations of The Walt Disney Company and includes original props from Disney productions, costumes representing film and television history, and puppets and character pieces. Among the items on display are props from Raiders of the Lost Ark, TRON, Flubber, and Muppet Treasure Island.
Disney Parks history is also represented in the collection, with pieces connected to attractions and experiences from Disney destinations. The exhibition provides fans with an opportunity to see artifacts that aren't regularly available for public viewing.
