Disney+ Becomes Global Home for Formula E Championship
Formula E and Disney+ have announced a landmark multi-year agreement that will make Disney+ the global streaming home of Formula E across 144 territories, including the US where it will stream alongside ESPN+. This deal marks one of the most significant milestones in Formula E's history, bringing together Disney's global entertainment platforms with the world's leading all-electric motorsport championship.
The agreement will introduce every Formula E race live on Disney+ and ESPN+, starting from the 2026/27 season. The new season will feature a revolutionary GEN4 era car that is set to be faster than an F1 car, with 600kW of power and 0-60mph in approximately 1.8 seconds.
According to Formula E's CEO Jeff Dodds, 'This is a landmark moment for Formula E and reflects the incredible momentum behind our championship.' He added that Disney's global reach will introduce Formula E to millions of new fans while bringing them closer than ever to the drama, innovation, and excitement of electric racing.
The deal complements Formula E's existing broadcast partnerships, ensuring that fans continue to enjoy broad access across key markets. The agreement also opens up opportunities for additional collaborations between Formula E and Disney beyond live race coverage.
