Disney Brings a Taste of Lake Life to Manhattan

Disney is promoting its upcoming Walt Disney World resort in Manhattan by installing a large-scale 3D street mural at Flatiron Plaza. The mural, created by Tracy Lee Stum, depicts the lazy river from Disney's Lakeshore Lodge as a 3D chalk art piece that visitors can step into and photograph.

The installation will run from October 2 to 5pm and includes branded pool floats on the mural and an A-frame Lake House structure set up alongside for photo opportunities. This is a preview of Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, which opens July 1, 2027, at Walt Disney World Resort on the shores of Bay Lake.

Reservations will open to Disney Vacation Club members on October 6, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on October 7, and all guests on October 8 online or by calling (407) 934-7639. The Lakeshore Lodge will have a significantly smaller number of rooms compared to other resorts like Fort Wilderness and Grand Flo.
