Disney Brings Animation History to Life at Hollywood Studios

Disney's Magic of Disney Animation has opened its doors at Hollywood Studios in Florida. The new experience combines over a century of animation history with cutting-edge technology, giving guests an immersive look at the art and magic behind their favorite Disney films.

The attraction is described as an 'open house' where animators have left the building but characters have come to life in unique ways. Guests can interact with artwork that's animated or interactive, allowing them to play along. One feature lets visitors use their park ticket or MagicBand to virtually inflate balloons for the open house, competing against previous scores.

Disney is also using augmented reality to bring characters out of their frames. A space dedicated to Disney animation history showcases the legacy of the building, which was once home to a working studio where parts of movies including 'Mulan', 'Lilo & Stitch', and 'Brother Bear' were created.

Guests can meet characters like Mulan, Rapunzel, Chip and Dale, Donald and Daisy, Goofy, and Stitch. An interactive drawing experience teaches visitors how to sketch Disney characters with the help of a new animatronic Olaf. Exclusive merchandise is also available, including ears, mugs, blankets, and other items.
