Disney Brings Back Lost Lighting Effect on Beloved EPCOT Attraction
Living with the Land, one of EPCOT's most beloved attractions, has been quietly updated over the years. While newer rides have arrived with bigger budgets and cutting-edge technology, this gentle boat ride through greenhouses and working laboratories has continued to attract loyal fans who appreciate its relaxing pace and educational message.
One effect that many fans thought was gone for good may be making a comeback. A video shared on X by theme park fan RockNstardust shows what appears to be work on restoring one of Living with the Land's classic environmental effects - lightning.
The attraction, which first opened as Listen to the Land in 1982 and received its current name in the early 1990s, has remained largely unchanged despite EPCOT's extensive reimagining. Rather than replacing or dramatically modernizing it, Disney appears willing to preserve details longtime guests remember.
