Disney Brings Back Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in New Live-Action Series
Jon Favreau's Disney+ project 'Oswald' brings back to life one of Walt Disney's original animated stars from 1927, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
The three-part comedy miniseries blends live-action with hand-drawn 2D animation and marks a major new chapter for the character nearly 100 years after his debut.
Oswald will premiere on February 17, 2027, exclusively on Disney+ and stars Albert Brooks, Amy Sedaris, Kathryn Hahn, Steve Martin, Al Madrigal, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Ryder Allen.
The story begins when an earthquake frees Oswald from the place where he's been hidden since the 1920s, leading a middle-school boy and his friends to help the mischievous rabbit navigate a world that's changed dramatically during his nearly century-long absence.
