Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in 1927 for Universal Pictures, is finally getting his own TV miniseries. The live-action animated three-part series will be on Disney+, with Jon Favreau writing, directing, and executive-producing.

The cast includes a star-studded lineup of comedians, including Albert Brooks, Amy Sedaris, Kathryn Hahn, Steve Martin, Al Madrigal, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Ryder Allen. The miniseries will blend hand-drawn 2D animation with live-action.

Oswald's road to a Disney series has been long; he was taken over by Universal in 1928, prompting Disney to create Mickey Mouse. However, in 2006, Disney regained the rights to Oswald in a trade with NBCUniversal.
