Disney Buys Yamaha Headquarters for $115.3 Million
Yamaha Motor Co. has sold its longstanding U.S. headquarters in Cypress, Calif., to The Walt Disney Co. for $115.3 million. The 278,964-square-foot campus, which includes office buildings, a research laboratory, and a warehouse, served as Yamaha’s operational hub for nearly 50 years. The property will remain occupied by Yamaha until the end of 2028 under a net lease agreement, after which Disney plans to use it for non-guest-facing operations.
Located on 25 acres at 6555 Katella Ave., the site offers industrial development opportunities and is situated near the Port of Los Angeles. Disney previously acquired an industrial campus adjacent to its Anaheim resort last year for $124 million, further expanding its presence in the region.
Yamaha’s relocation to Kennesaw, Ga., is part of broader structural reforms aimed at improving profitability amid tariffs and market volatility. This move follows other Southern California companies, such as KB Home and Public Storage, which have also announced relocations to metro Phoenix and Frisco, Texas, respectively.
