Disney Buys Yamaha's Cypress HQ for $115M Amid Shift to Georgia
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has acquired Yamaha Motor Corporation USA's longtime U.S. headquarters in Cypress, California for $115 million, according to transfer tax records on the grant deed. The property, located at 6555 Katella Ave., covers a full city block and includes a warehouse, flex space, and office building totaling 279,000 square feet.
The sale comes as Yamaha Motor is moving its remaining local motor operations to Georgia, with officials citing rising tariffs and higher manufacturing costs. The company had moved its marine business to Kennesaw, Georgia in 1999 and its motorsports operations there in 2019.
Avison Young represented Yamaha Motor Co. in the sale, with Patrick Barnes stating that 'this is a transformational moment for both Yamaha and the city of Cypress.' The acquisition underscores the strength of the local market, Barnes added.
