Disney Cast Members Sign New Ferryboat Ahead of 2027 Arrival
A new ferryboat is set to arrive at Walt Disney World in 2027, marking the first time since 1976 that a new vessel has been added to the Seven Seas Lagoon. The boat, named after former resort president Meg Crofton, is currently being assembled and painted backstage at the park.
Cast members had the opportunity to leave their mark on the ferryboat by signing a piece of it prior to its installation. New Walt Disney World President Joe Schott was also in attendance and signed the item. The WDW Ambassador Instagram page shared photos of the event, showcasing cast members leaving their signature on the boat.
The new ferryboat will feature a similar design and capacity as the existing fleet, with a portrait of Meg Crofton on the first deck, developed by Walt Disney Imagineering, along with a plaque sharing her story. This addition is part of ongoing developments at the park, including the refurbishment of Echo Lake at Disney's Hollywood Studios and the reopening of Big Top Souvenirs at the Magic Kingdom.
