ETFs Poised to Surpass $2 Trillion Mark Amid Record Growth
U.S.-listed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are on track to reach a record-breaking $2 trillion in net inflows by the end of this year, according to Goldman Sachs' latest data. This represents a 40% increase over last year's intake.
In the first half of the year alone, investors have poured over $1 trillion into U.S.-listed ETFs, highlighting their growing popularity and expanding product suite. Actively managed strategies are driving this expansion, capturing over 35% of year-to-date inflows despite accounting for just 13% of total industry assets.
The trend is also being fueled by rapid product innovation and portfolio customization, with the total number of U.S. ETFs expected to surpass 6,000 offerings soon, a number that exceeds the number of single stocks available in the domestic market.
