Disney Closes Single Rider Line for Expedition Everest
The Single Rider line for Expedition Everest at Walt Disney World Resort has been permanently closed. The line, which allowed solo guests to fill empty seats on the roller coaster trains and sometimes save over an hour in wait times, was shut down on September 20. Guests arriving at Animal Kingdom Theme Park on Monday, September 21, were among the first to experience the new boarding procedures.
Under the new system, Disney cast members separate parties into odd and even groups, making it easier for them to fully load the train without pulling Single Riders from a separate line. This change aims to make boarding more efficient and reduce wait times for everyone.
The closure of the Single Rider line comes as part of a broader effort to revamp the attraction. At D23 Expo 2026, Walt Disney Imagineering announced plans to revive the motionless Yeti animatronic, which was previously damaged due to its repetitive motions. However, no timeline has been provided for when the Yeti will be restored.
